Some time ago Professor Peter Yellowlees created a “metaverse” (ie, metaphysical universe), a three-dimensional world whose users, or “residents”, can create and be anything they want. This virtual online world, orginally created to teach students about schizophrenia, has students and advertisers wanting more.

I'd rather The Sims 2 than this piece of crap!

Im with you B86, I installed the simulation a few months ago to see how it plays... Worst graphics, laggy responce, shit control. Its impossible to find a good place on the map because there are over 100,000 places to goto and most of them are peices of shit, then when you finally find a good place... what do you do there? Look around for 5 minutes before becoming bored, then try to interact with things, all you do is dance, sit down, wave or other badly crafted model animations. There are communal places (if you can find them) and most of the people are going around shopping for crap, noone talks to anyone when you walk down the street, and when you get to the shops it takes 30mins to find something slightly good, but it costs you USD$5 for an airplane, why would I pay $5 real money for some crappy custom coding? Maybe I can fly around sitting and be bored rather than just fly standing, probably at the same speed with same movement control.

Does anyone know why people stay there? Maybe they've never played a game in thier life

Bonny has a point. Then again they arnt looking for a game. But even being a addicited gamer myself I have to ask..wtf?

Maybe they ought to spend 3 hours in something like WoW and realize paying 5 (real) dollars is bloody absurd for a trip to a place thats not really there for a means that holds no conseqeunce.

atleast you know your $10-30 dollars a month for MMOs goes to keeping the game updated and running.

quincy0191Fuck You, Norton Antivirus
I’ve been having problems with Norton Antivirus for the past few weeks, mainly relating to an issue with the ccSvcHst.exe file, which has a tendency to eat one’s entire CPU on occasion, and for little reason. The LiveUpdate feature has some influence here; if it’s not run for an extended period, and when it is run and for a short time after, it causes ccSvcHst.exe to take up 80-100% of the processor’s capacity. This is a well-documented issue online, as a quick Goog...

nodnarb232001Bioshock 2- A First Look
Bioshock was one of the most awesome games on the Xbox 360/PC/PS3 (I'll be focusing on the 360 version). Set in a dystopian underwater city created and ruled by uber-zealous free market capitalist magnate Andrew Ryan the citizens of Rapture took a liking to the gene modification craze known as Splicing. Better looks? Different hair color? Ability to shoot lightning? Splicing's got your back. Powered by a material harvested from sea slugs known as Adam, splicing pav...
