A look at a different aspect of the gun ownership debate by following the logic inherent in the idea that the keeping and bearing of arms is closely linked to freedom, in the specific situation facing the citizens and residents of the United States today.

Keep in mine "the right to bear arms" was written back when it took 2 minutes to reload a single shot rifle that are more efficient if used as a club. The reason the US has this freedom was because back then, it was all about militia.

Until an amendment is made for the second amendment, it's still part of our bill of rights. What bother's me is the whole 'it's just a piece of paper bit' if it is indeed true. The fact that it sounds like it -could- happen is frightening in of itself.

I second the killing of that damned buzzing ad. Same with the talking smiley face. Friggen annoying pricks.

This is stupid...the second amendment is not outdated at all.

In fact we've yet to reach it.

The day i can opt for surgery to replace these crappy human arms for polar bear claws is the day we should ponder this. Until then let's keep wishing for kick ass bear arms.

only thing i have to say about this is that i'm not going to take a site seriously that has v for vendetta in their logo. just like when people link to www.bobs911site.com as "evidence" of anything. if you want to be taken seriously, show it in a manor that i could cite in a report.

I actually agree with some parts the article poiints out. Specifically, the wording and idea behind the second amendment. It doesn't guarentee the right to bear arms. Regular citizens are not part of a militia. That said, it doesn't prohibit them either. So anyway, goo right ahead and fight for less gun control, but don't use the second amendment as part of the justification.

I think that it is funny that the end of the article tries to convince the reader that the writer is outside the bounds of human bias. The writer tries to say that all articles written on Sign of the Times are purely an analysis of the facts and not any kind of "wishful thinking" on the part of the author. I think he fails to realize that his article is merely his interpretation of the facts, therefore are bias with his own "wishful thinking" of how and why the facts are as they are. I think this is especially true in politics seeing as it is impossible to see things as they really are. There are too many people doing things to fulfill theirs and other people's agendas to really know why certain things are done. The lack of gun control could just be the result of the fact that one of the biggest lobbies in the US is pushing to try to prevent it, and the fact that (despite what some pro gun control people think) it is a constitutional right to bear arms. Also, how does the author expect the public to change the current administration using firearms? I used to think that someone should execute Bush, but then I realized (like others have on ShoutWire) that his assassination would merely be used as a pretext to take more rights away from the people (an opinion, I admit). I think anyone smart enough to pull off an assassination would be smart enough to realize this (of course that doesn't necessarily include people that have enough dumb luck to pull it off). If a person could easily shape the government using guns, don't you think there would be a lot more violence against politicians? Besides, this is just one administration and it won't be in power for ever (it is, in fact, comprised of people who aren't Highlanders). If anyone hasn't figured it out, I am a gun nut and I love guns. But I don't buy them for security, I buy then because I am interested in them and having them provides me with a hobby.

First I would like to say this article makes a very interresting point. I had never thought about the gun debate that way, the government using our right to bear arms to blind us from the loss of other rights. But I have a problem with the whole "the 2nd Amendment is outdated" arguement. The point is always made that an armed citizenship would never stand a chance against the U.S. military. For one how many U.S. soldiers are going to turn on American citizens if some kind of civil war broke out, yes some will, but it would be hard to kill your own countrymen. Other examples would be Veitnam and our situation in Iraq right now. History is filled with lesser armed, untrained, groups of people defeating vastlty overwelming and technologically superior forces. My second arguement being the number of gun owners (registered, unregistered can only be guessed) greatly outnumbers all of the U.S. branches of the military combined. I believe around 80 million if not more. If only half of those gun owners banned together they would make a very powerful enemy. Also American citizens can get almost any small arms that the military can get. Just with out full auto capabilities, but if you fill out the right forms you can get those too. To end this long string of points, I do believe it could be true our government is using one right to secretly take away another. I just wanted to state the idea of an armed citizenry not having a chance against a nations military, thus making the second amendment outdated, is very untrue. Thanks if you read all that crap lol.

quincy0191Fuck You, Norton Antivirus
I’ve been having problems with Norton Antivirus for the past few weeks, mainly relating to an issue with the ccSvcHst.exe file, which has a tendency to eat one’s entire CPU on occasion, and for little reason. The LiveUpdate feature has some influence here; if it’s not run for an extended period, and when it is run and for a short time after, it causes ccSvcHst.exe to take up 80-100% of the processor’s capacity. This is a well-documented issue online, as a quick Goog...

nodnarb232001Bioshock 2- A First Look
Bioshock was one of the most awesome games on the Xbox 360/PC/PS3 (I'll be focusing on the 360 version). Set in a dystopian underwater city created and ruled by uber-zealous free market capitalist magnate Andrew Ryan the citizens of Rapture took a liking to the gene modification craze known as Splicing. Better looks? Different hair color? Ability to shoot lightning? Splicing's got your back. Powered by a material harvested from sea slugs known as Adam, splicing pav...
