A rare display of honesty took place at the RNC last night as key Republican bankers and politicians confessed that they are largely to blame for America’s spiraling debt.
Boehner was the first to confess that the bulk of America’s debt was to blame on Bush-era policies. “We built that” said Boehner, as he took a moment to squint away tears and think about how America fought two illegal wars while Bush appeased the public with token tax cuts. As the USSR learned in the 1980s, a war in Afghanistan will break the economy and fighting another war on top of such an effort is next to fool-hardy. Republicans knew that, but there was oil to be had for Halliburton.
Uncle-Tom’s great grandson Allen West made an appearance, chiming in with ‘We Built That’ while looking up at the climbing debt. He and his friends were all part of a banking scheme system where struggling families were enticed with home loans way outside their means, as banks banked on them to default as a backwards means of gaining a larger margin of credit, recovered debt and bubble debt load against people who actually had money in the bank and paid on time.
The night continued in much the same way, as other Republicans laughed and talked about the time they refused to make any concessions to protect America’s credit rating from dropping to AA from AAA. All they had to do was agree with Obama to raise the debt ceiling by a certain date, but they refused. They instead opted to wait so they could blame Obama for losing America’s credit rating in their media circuits.
And so it came to pass the the Republicans did all these things and blamed them on Obama, publicly confessed and will later deny it. And know one will really pay attention, because Snooki just had a baby and Fox News’ pundits yell the loudest.
