The internet may intermingle cultures, but as for it being a unique culture in itself, I don't see it.

yes... i would have to agree; the internet is breaking down distance barriers that prevent everyone from witnessing the rest of the world.. it makes far off places seem a lot closer and events that occur worldwide have an even lesser chance, more than ever, of fading into obscurity... furthermore people you'd never be able to meet on normal, face-to-face terms can now be reached within a few minutes of time... really the only thing standing in the way of a world government is distance barriers
id say the next step is for the world to adopt a single language so that differing languages will no longer prevent us from understanding one another.... i vote for english
