I like Zucchini as well... don't get me wrong, it's no asparagus, but it has its own charm in a way.

That's not true. In Urdu we call it "Kheera". It's used quite frequently in salads and the like.

In Russian we call it "tsukini," so we borrowed the word from the Americans who in turn borrowed the word from the Italians. Most languages will occasionally borrow words from another language. None of this means some things are "so bad" they're not worth naming.
