The Bush administration is building a half billion dollar embassy in downtown Baghdad on the banks of the Tigris. The walls are said to be fifteen feet thick and aside from the Great Wall of China it will also be visible with the naked eye from space. So the question is....what is Bush's real exit plan? The link is from MSNBC, the original article was on CNN site but was removed shortly after it listing.

@ ashok

it would be a mistake to assme the entire insurgency are all saddamist. in a different artical i was talking about the need to fully recognise the different groups and their reasons if the us are ever to sucseed in calming the area.
some are religious extremeist but not all of them are the same as al-queda, some are attempting to force the us out. some are just trying to take control during the chaos and whats happening now some are turning on eachother over religion and terriory. im sure ive missed plenty as there are tons of different groups. many of said groups probably activly oppose the saddamist as everybody hated them.

as said before this embassy wont solve anything and will only inflame the insugency. as symbole of athourity will not go over well in a country recently oppressed by an athourity especially one that used lots of symbolism itself. the only symbolism the building will show is how saddams palaces are dwarfed by it ( speaking of palaces the current us embassy is in one why do they need to build somthing bigger when they already have one.) everyday iraqis who oppose the violent insugency will be pissed at the building, why couldent they have just as easily built as smaller less imposing one or wait until things have calmed down, or as overly stated waited until more important building and infrastructure is compleated first.
even opimists who talk about how iraq is improving say that it still needs much more work to run smoothly.
hell i could see americans being jeleous of it, whens the last time so much was spent on a goverment/public building in the states.

all in all im still surprised at the level of tolerance the majority of iraqis show the us and other countries, history shows they have more than enough reason to hate the west. all i can say is arrogance and imposing building s will not do anything to calm the growing civil war that is likely to come in iraq, one more thing shouldent the us be saving money in order to fund the coming war with iran (and the likely aftermath of a wwIII but thats for a different artical)

This is a joke, you people really think it is going to be built to help the iraqi people? if you do, you been watching too much CNN and bumbing bush. If they wanted to help iraqis, they would build fresh water pipes, hospital etc. To the person who said Symbol is more important than giving fresh water ( i think Ashok ).. you are one fucked up idiot, you need to look around you dumb fuck.

please forgive me for my insults after reading your articles more carefully , i can see the point you are trying to make , i feel so foolish using those derogatory words against you.
on another note maybe if you flew to iraq and fed the ppl there waving a big flag of america and a t shirt that says america cares that might inspire them aswell.
or maybe they will just hang your stupid bush ball licking ass off that lovely new embassy wall.

warvigilent - globalsecurity.org is respected by many on the left and right. I'm sure the article you were reading was good, though, and if you can provide a link, it would be much appreciated.

I should say that the link I gave does address some of your concerns.

To the rest of you: If there is no one protect clean water supplies or hospitals, what good are they?

Security first, and whatever helps security first - humanitarian ends come later. Failure to observe this results in Somalia.

ashok is a fucking dikhead. you obviously are part of the bush administration. Oh if you are, then i got one thing to say. your all a bunch of fags. i think ashok, that you need to wake up, i can see your just joking just to get attention by saying silly things.

"To the rest of you: If there is no one protect clean water supplies or hospitals, what good are they?"

You clearly, either have no brain, or are just acting stupid. US arent there to protect the Iraqi people, i think that is very evident. Too much CNN my friend. If they wanted to protect iraqi people, its a good way to protect them by bombing their houses without warning?

By the way Mr BUSH FUCKINHSHOK errrm i mean Ashok, come on tell us who u really are, or from? Are you colin powell? coz if u r, i want u to know that U r a Fag.

If you click on someone's name, you will see their profile. It shows what they have shouted, submitted, and commented on.

As far as your views on the embassy, we will eventually see for ourselves what impact it has on Iraq. Then we can bitch about who was right or wrong.
