It confuses me that it is fine for everyone but white people to say nigger. If that 12 year old was anything but white, most people wouldn't care that he used that term.

Who really gives a shit about that word anyway. It's used so much it's barely even racist anymore. I've seen black people call white people nigger. Who gives a shit. It's just another word to use to curse.

IMHO, one of most racist things is that white people are the only race that can't say nigger. It seems fair game for the rest of the world.

Now some people probably think I'm racist for thinking in this fashion. But in thinking that I'm racist for believing that words should be shared equally... does that not technically make you a racist?

It's not really the word that's offensive though, it's the context it's put in.

I could just as easily say, "What are you, black?"

Now the word black is equally offensive, if not more.

Essentially, you could call a white person black, or a black person white and offend them (although it really shouldn't because a white, brown, black, red, yellow, or green person is still a person... Don't offend the Hulk, he's mighty green and he'll smash you).

I just feel that there's too much emphasis on word nigger. I think it gets blown WAY out of proportion for how often it's used in so called popular culture. Not just that, but I find a lot of people get "offended" just to start shit.

Bulshoy, I realize it can be an offensive word to put someone down due to skin colour. However, I also believe words are only as offensive as you let them be.
