It's a game, no more no less. Simply put, does life imitate art or the opposite.

Shouted for incorporating the word: "Bourgeoisie"

"What if it is not the video games that influence youths, but instead the youths influence video games?"

I think you have an original point there. You may be right.

Let's hope someone has the dedication to investigate further and that we have a chance to share the result.

Ever play "Bully"? That's a case of art imitating life.

The only reason I could see that video games would cause kids to be violent is if the kids in question spend too much time gaming and no time interacting socially.

When your reality becomes the games world, you assimilate the character interactions and begin to behave in that fashion (I'd like to point to furries [think pokemon] ). BUT ONLY if you ignore everyday life and socialization.

it's funny that they're quick to blame video games, with all the sh*t going on in the middle east. I'd be pointing towards the US as a cause of violence in kids, or more George Bush. It's okay for him to invade a country without probable cause. The US is the bully of the world, after all...

@mic

Don't quite get how bully comes into that, bully is about some kid being forcefully sent to a boarding school by his gold digging mother and having to take out all the bully's in school as each one is hassling him in one way or another.

I don't know what schools you know but i've never seen one where a new kid joins and decides he needs to take out every ringleader of each social group.

Haha does anyone remember the first GTA and how shitty the graphics were? And if you ran over that line of Mexican gangsters you would get like 100,000 points and a "Guaranga!"? I played that game quite a bit as a child...

But I'm not stealing cars or chasing down Mexican gangsters. However I kinda want to...I will keep that urge bottled, yes I will.

Video games in and of themselves are purely fiction, residing in the realm of virtual reality.

When parents don't step in to make distinctions between virtual and actual reality, the line between the two worlds becomes blurred.

Every time a child goes apeshit after playing a video game, i can guarantee you that there was no parent around at any time to supervise. Not once did the parent sit down and say 'this is all good and fun, but remember, this world ends when the console turns off-dont' forget that"

FidoMeet Joe Sixpack
Howdy everybody, Joe Sixpack here. I never met you all before, but I was having some pops last night with my bud Fido and he said if I wrote this down, he’d fix up the spellun’ and put it on the internet. He’s mostly full of shit, but I did it anyway. This is about Thursday night. The wife had the kids at football practice and going by her sister’s and I was home tipping back some cold ones and looking for something to watch on TV. I seen the debate thing was on b...

As we know, everyone in Washington DC are assholes of varying degree. Last week we called Sarah Palin out for being a dumb cunt and an asshole. And that's coming from me. If you're actually voting for Palin, people named cadpig, you're a dumb asshole enabler. Palin is worthless and would have the US on a road to destruction that would involve hurting our allies too. What's even more disturbing than people who watched Palin on Katie Couric wanting to vote for her ...
