That guy's got some nuts. My second cousin got shrapped pretty bad over there but fortunately mentally he is confirmed to be OK. There are 1.6 million who have served over there, and be assured there will be a lot of personal misery to follow the (hopefully soon) end to this national embarrasment.

I have a lot of ex-military in my family, and most are against the war.

Why would they even try to send him to Iraq ?

He's got the whole bunch of problems to not be allowed to have a weapon even AT HOME .

To send a person with anxiety and agoraphobia to fight in foreign land on opposite side of planet Earth ? Why the fuck would they do that ?

That's a steady risk he'll shoot himself or go postal , shooting others !

I hope they will make him go back to Iraq and he will shoot the whole platoon , then they'll know they shouldn't have fucked with him .

If he joined 6 years ago, then he joined knowing full well what was going to happen. Even if he hadn't, the military wouldn't pay for men and women they can't use. That's a waste of their money and time. I'd strip his rank and send him home. I hate people like this. In the military YOU HAVE NO OPINION AND YOU SIGNED UP FOR IT! No one wants to hear your poor white southern sad story as an excuse. You know the drill, if you're a Sgt; "No excuse, Sir." I feel like I'm watching General Patton, in the scene where the man in the hospital bed isn't fighting because of his nerves. I would have slapped him, just like Patton did. Maybe we need more men willing to put these cowards in their place. Maybe it's just me. Either way, he's a coward and everyone behind him is, too.

You disgust me, and you are not an American, and have no right calling yourself a Sgt., a soldier, or even a man.

^Re-read the article. It was a Veteran who shared his story about the agoraphobia. It wasn't Chiroux.
I don't know what to think with this one. Personally I think the war is insane, but I also think it's too damn late. Once the US is outta there, how long before they bomb the shit out of America? On the other hand, He was pretty ballsy to stand up for what he believes in(or doesn't believe in). I'm sure he'll spend a nice chunk of his life behind bars for this.
