The latest BS to emerge from the RIAA are cease-and-desist letters to Youtube users who have dared to put up videos of things such as themselves dancing to music they haven’t licensed. Clearly an insanity plea no longer covers the RIAA’s stupidity. From trying to orchestrate illegal takedowns in other countries a la The Pirate Bay to sending cease-and-desist letters to some poor user who has just recorded himself doing silly things to a song no one will even remember a week later.

The RIAA doing such BS things as this only further drives people to download as a sign of protest.

Float an email Mitch Bainwol's (Chairman & CEO of RIAA) way. I couldn't find his actual email, but I found this one:

The RIAA is doing a great job of pissing off the world and alienating consumers.

Absolute joke, these guys must be loaded to afford to waste their lawyers time sending out infringement notices to the most obscure corners of the web.

These guys need their computers confiscating as they clearly are getting a bit carried away. Does this mean any video where there's some music playing in the background - even if it's round the block is up for the same thing.

Need to give them a going over with some snooker balls in a sock - while playing Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson in the background in reverse.

I am in no way condoning the above behaviour :) You never know it could be called incitement.

I was at a rave last week, and some of the DJs were afraid to let their sets be recorded for fear of getting sued.....that sounds a bit rediculous....someone mentioned it above somewhere.....what happened to fair use???

Either they`ll give up, or be motivated.
We áre creating a hell of a market for them.
They`ll either thrive, or become outdated.
I'm hoping for the latter, but since YouTube broadcasts illegal films too, I think this`ll just expand their brnach once again.
