This is only going to end one way.

The United States government will block any attempt for "aliens exist" proof to reach the public. The only information we will get is what is aproved through legal or "extra-legal" means.

If they can't control SETI then you'll see a lof of jamming and materials gone missing, accidents, etc. dooming any SETI progress.

They do this all the time, it's nothing new on the part of the US Govt.

Maybe the infor is true maybe it isnt. We wont be able to tell either way.

Of course, just the name alienvideo is enough to make the source sound untrustworthy.

And there's no actual guarantee that there are beings more intelligent than us out there, or that they find faster than light travel particularly easy :)

Not to say that such beings might not exist. I agree that if i were part of such a race, i'd probably consider humans no more than half-intelligent lab-rats.

Test and then return to the wild :)

Makes you wonder what a member of a super-species might think of a guy spending 10 hours a day in front of the TV :)

We are actually bitchin all around the world against our differences ( race, sexuality orientation, ways of thinking, etc.. ). If aliens exist and know us a little bit, i'm probably sure that they don't want to show off because human is close minded as shit and we will try to kill them and start a war on the name of GOD!

*sorry for my bad english*

"great, the NSA wiretap alien transmissions now."

hahaha good one.

I think it would be cool to meet an alien (extraterrestial type), if I can't borrow a UFO could I at least get a quick joy ride?

first off scientists will not announce anything unless they have valid proof, because that is what science is based on, facts. another reason scientists don't come out and say anything on the subject is because it will ruin their reputation and that could very well destroy their career.
they will say that it is unlikely we are alone in the universe, for one good fucking reason that is fact...they know the universe is huge and that they have done the calculations. its all based on fact because that is the basis of science something that has been studied, experimented and proven a fact.

most people only believe what is fact and that is a fact. i believe we are not alone because first off its selfish to think that and secondly the universe is as far as we know infinite so thats what i believe.

also why is it so hard to believe that an alien race would want to destroy us? look at the world today, we want to kill each other and commit genocide launch nuclear weapons at each other and this is reality. to me that is crazy when you think about not aliens coming to earth. our values anymore are distorted because of all this which is why people are so paranoid.

one more thing, the comment that straw made, hes probably right. i could see us humans doing something like that because of what i just stated, so to me, right now, that seems like a fact.

I can't believe what i'm seeing, people who actually don't believe there are aliens out there. Yeah sure, be sceptical about aliens on earth, i am too, but the fact that earth is the only life sustaining planet in the universe, which contains millions and billions of galaxies, each containing billions of planets. Of course there isn't life on every planet, but earth being "The One", give me a break.
You guys know there are several universes too, right, or didn't you learn anything from your physicsclasses??

The theory of multiple universes is a theory. One aspect of it, is that we will never be able to produce any evidence, or even supportive measurements for it.

The theory that there is life outside this planet is a theory. It is in no way based on facts. It is purely speculative and based on assumptions*.

I DO believe that there is life outside this planet, but I have yet to see any evidence for it.

I do NOT believe that Steven Greer is able to produce such evidence.

I do NOT believe SETI has recieved messages from an alien civilization, nor that they are withholding such information. SETI is no longer a government program. It is sponsored by private people from all over the world. I even support it a little through The Planetary Society. You can too:
http://www.planetary.org/explore/topics/seti/
https://planetary
.org/join/membership/index.html

I DO believe that SETI has recieved "multiple extraterrestrial signals", but not from life-forms. That is why they haven't gone public. There is nothing to go public about. Extraterrestrial signals have been recieved by astronomers for decades. Even when SETI was a government program, they recieved - and did NOT withhold - said signals.

----

*) The typical argument goes like this:
"There are, let's say, 100 billion stars in our galaxy (assumption). If only 1% of those have planets around them (assumption), we have 1 billion planet systems. If only 1% of those have one habitable planet (assumption), we have 10 million habitable planets. If life evolves on only 1% of these planets (assumption), we have 100 000 planets with life on them. If just 1% of those planets develop intelligent lifeforms, that's 100 planets with intelligent lifeforms (99 other planets besides the Earth). - And that's just in the milky way galaxy. There are countless galaxies out there.

Whether that is a realistic calculation, we do not know. But it certainly isn't based on facts, study or experimentation. There are no such arguments for life in the universe, that is - to my knowledge. Only speculative arguments.

I DO believe that there is life in the universe. But there is no proof. Even Steven Greer and his miltitude of 'encounterers' haven't been able to produce a shred of evidence (note: I use the scientific understanding of the word).

---

The above argument raises an interesting problem. Suppose it is accurate. Just 99 other planets? What are the odds that any of those planets have developed intelligent lifeforms at the same time? Consider how short a time we have existed as intelligent beings, or even beings able to send messages into space...

But I remain convinced that there is life out there. Just not the sort that Steven Greer & co. claims to have encountered.

It'll take a while for aliens and us to meet n greet. Solar systems eligable for intelligent life are 1000's of lightyears away.
By the time their "we're gonna kill you all"-message reached earth, all of us are havin' a good time in Valhalla.

Theories about aliens on earth are symptom of a psychological syndrom called the E.T.-complex. Kids neglected or abused by family make up an imaginairy friend from a different world who has a great understanding for their bedwetting. Haaaaaa!

C'mon would you travel 1000's of lightyears just to stamp on some crops or abduct a fat American nerd with hemorrhoids just to return him totally unharmed?

Lots of ppl talk with aliens. often in special buildings made for the alien related cermonies. Yes, they actually worship this aliens.... and they call them self followers of "christ"( an alien who supposedly trancended to earth through a womans birth 2039 years ago)or christians. ...
.... (i dont know if this alien, usually labeled "God", is all that intelligent. But that goes for the average homo-sapiens-sapiens to)
