There's probably no better example than the outlandish and, quite frankly, retarded food "facts" that get spread around. To listen to these people, half the stuff in your refrigerator is a dangerous substance that was originally designed as a chemical weapon.

While Red Bull won't give you a tumor it will certainly increase your chances for Diabetes, which is why I call it "Diabetes in a Can".

If you get too much stomach acid it can start to eat away at itself but it takes a lot of effort (and Magner's cider) to make that happen.

The treatment is antacids for 6 weeks and you can't eat or drink anything that will upset your stomach, no alcohol, no acids, not even milk.

The no alcohol for 6 weeks was torture.

I didn't believe any of this stuff anyways. And fuck Red Bull. It's taste is basically all taurine and sugar so it goes down like cough syrup. I prefer Monster, which actually has a nice taste. The best is the blue can that has about 8g of sugar total (and its glucose, not corn syrup) and its main sweetness is from the artificial sweetener sucralose AKA Splenda. Of course there's all sorts of negative propaganda going around about Splenda as well as other artificials but most of it is just unfounded and/or ignorant speculation.

What's sadder than people believing these 7 retarded myths is that it takes a humor site like cracked...NOT A SITE THAT SPECIALIZES IN SCIENTIFIC STUFFS...to debunk these.

(7) Completely misses the point that Phosphoric acid binds with magnesium and calcium, then causing lower bone density.

(5) MSG simply feeds cancer, doesn't cause it itself. Pff, FDA has no credibility what so ever after what G. D. Searle & Company managed to pull.

Additionally:

(6) Caffeine caused the heart attack, I think Taurine was added to try and counter-act that, guess it failed in this case.

Yeah. But Cracked cited their sources and actually backed their shit up with reasoning. I'm sure there are scientific sites out there that have debunked these, but the average gullible idiot is not going to be inquisitive enough to go looking for them. They'll just believe whatever chain email they get and anything else that supports it. A Cracked article has more potential to reach that lowest common denominator.

And the article being on a humor site means nothing. Humor and fact are not mutually exclusive.
