Former British Ambassador to Uzbekistan Craig Murray says the alleged transatlantic liquid bomb plot is staged-managed propaganda on behalf of Bush and Blair - who yearn for a "new 9/11" to absolve them of domestic political trouble.

Re-read your own post it's full of self contradictions.

It really doesn't matter what religion a terrorist is since religion doesn't define a state or nation as a target for retribution against terrorism nor does nationality.

Terrorists do not follow the laws of any country by their very definition they seek results outside of any country's law.

This is the simple fact that everyone seems to have forgotten when they bay for blood in the aftermath of a terrorist strike.

You need to capture the individuals and prosecute them under your country's laws, seek extradition of individuals suspected of terrorism against your nation. Not punish the populous of a country because terrorists might be hiding within its borders.

This is the only path for the peaceful nations to take, you know, the ones that say they are great nations and superior both culturally and morally.

As to losing liberties ask yourself this if the police suspect someone in your town of being a murderer should they interrogate and impose restrictions on the entire residents of your town until they are caught. Thats what is happening at UK airports right now. There have been no terrorists caught since the initial incident nor is there any information pertaining to a new terrorist plot since the uncovering of the initial plot. At Heathrow alone 175,000 people per day are being subjected to a form of martial law with no evidence in place to suggest any necessity after the operation and thats the important part "after the operation" the police carried out to thwart a terrorist threat. Second guessing where the next threat might come from at the expense of your population is neither sound use of police resources or sensible government policy.

Terrorism is a strategy, not an ideology. Neither America nor Britain are innocent of employing this strategy, even discounting 9/11, and 7/7...which I personally believe were perpetrated by elements of both governments, in order to further political agendas. Ari Fleischer (sp?), about two weeks before resigning, admitted to reporters that the Bush administration manipulated terror alerts on numerous occassions for political reasons. So why stop there? There are so very many suspect elements to these cases, that you have to actually be looking away not to see the strange anomolies. You have to be closing your eyes deliberately, so as not to say "What the hell is going on here?" Something very wrong is going on here... the propoganda techniques that both sides developed and perfected in the two great world wars are being fully deployed against their own peaceful populations, so that so called ruling classes can rearrange things more to their liking. You think the lives or reputations of a few faceless peasants are really high on their priority lists? Not compared to massive oil dividends, or the ability to control key markets, to profiteer freely and pat the backs of ivory-league buddies. This is a class war, and you at least need to realize that before you stand a chance of escaping what would seem like an imminent, subtle form of slavery.

We are not sheep. We are wolves, and it's time we start acting like it.

I'm not sure what part of the middle east Christian M17 lived in but but its not consistent with where I live.

I'm British, I'm married to an Arab I live next door and across the street from Arab (all muslim). All nice people and don't care where I am from or what religon I am. 99% of all people are the same, we don't care where your from or what religon we just want to get on with our lives. its always the 1% that mess it up for the rest of us.

Seems strange doesn't it that they have known about this plot for months, infultrated it, yet on the day of the arrests the shit hits the fan at the airports? Come on we weren't born yesterday

So... a quick run-down on where we're at with recent terror alerts...

---

The "al-qaeda book woman".. turned out to be someone suffering claustrophobia who had neither a note nor a book referencing al-qaeda.

The "explosives-detected woman" just had hand-cream.

The two brothers in London where one received a gunshot wound to the shoulder... revealed nothing (except police incompetence).. and it's being brushed under the carpet.

Of 46 searches/investigations in the UK, over 20 have been completed...

Of those they've found some "martyr tapes" (actually media files on a computer - but those haven't been released yet, nor are transcripts available.)

...and a "bomb-kit", or more accurately, a suitcase found in some woodlands near High Wycome, that contained things that could be used to make "an improvised explosive".

It can only happen on the internet.

You listen to the words of an opinionated ex-diplomat who during his brief career was side-lined to the middle of nowhere and has since been looking for ways to get into the headlines. Quite possibly he subscribes to the same "conspiracies-r-us" magazine as many of you here seem to fantasise about when you are on your own in bed!!!

The security services have to take the threats seriously - what would happen if they didn't?

Did they create the threats? Doubtful. Not even a schoolboy would attempt such a lie without lining up the evidence.

Whatever you believe, don't listen to the words of those who proclaim themselves wise. There are enough idiots in the world who all think they're doing and saying the right thing. And what happens? They simply add to the confusion and in fact thrive on the confusion because it gives them a platform and makes them seem important - when actually they aren't important at all.

Be important - change the world and don't listen to the idiots who say there are a bunch of grand malevolent conspiracies. There really aren't that many conspiracies (apart from the oil companies). What there are, are the rest of us trying to survive through the chaos induced world the idiots have created.

Your good buddies at the oil companies work very hard to control a massive extent of the global economy. Consider that wars are fought, billions, even trillions of dollars spent by dozens of countries to protect and control the flows of that oh-so-rich substance. You think, with all those conflicting interests, all that money, all that power, that they wouldn't engage in a little false-flag terrorism to manipulate the voter opinion of their oil-company representatives in government? So they could maneuvre this, or combat that, or give and get excuses to do whatever they need to obtain whatever objectives are pertinent at the moment. What I'm saying is that yes, oil companies are conspirators, but they are only a part of it. These 'conspiracies' don't even necessarily need to be interconnected, though many are. When people say conspiracy, for some reason the public envisions dark, long tables, aliens and cigars. It need not be that at all, it only needs to be people in positions of influence, using their power to steer events in a direction desirable to themselves and their monetary interests. It is of course natural for people in power to want to protect that power, and I really don't believe that morality is much of an issue when you start to pen the war plans. It's an afterthought. The government is not your friend. These security increases are not to protect you from terrorists. They are here to protect the government - from you.

Maybe they sent him to a country in the middle of nowhere because they didnt want him to speak out, and expose what his government was doing.

Aside from that, id like to believe that there are no conspiracy theories but when western governments lie and hide facts about what ther are doing what do u excpect people to believe their lying governments or the hidden agenda they try to cover up. Only idiots believe what their governments want them to believe.

UPDATE!!!

>> Pakistanis find no evidence against 'terror mastermind'

"The Briton alleged to be the 'mastermind' behind the airline terror plot could be innocent of any significant involvement, sources close to the investigation claim.

Rashid Rauf, whose detention in Pakistan was the trigger for the arrest of 23 suspects in Britain, has been accused of taking orders from Al Qaeda's 'No3' in Afghanistan and sending money back to the UK to allow the alleged bombers to buy plane tickets.

But after two weeks of interrogation, an inch-by-inch search of his house and analysis of his home computer, officials are now saying that his extradition is 'a way down the track' if it happens at all.

It comes amid wider suspicions that the plot may not have been as serious, or as far advanced, as the authorities initially claimed.

Analysts suspect Pakistani authorities exaggerated Rauf's role to appear 'tough on terrorism' and impress Britain and America."

( alternate link: http://tinyurl.com/ps4o2 )

So there's no evidence against the Mastermind of this operation and with over half of the suspect searches complete in the UK, we've got some "martyr tapes" (media files on a PC) that we're yet to see ... and a "bomb-kit" which more accurately was a suitcase in King's Wood (nr High Wycombe) that contained enough items for it be used to make an "improvised explosive". (Technically speaking, a cigarette lighter or a box of matches can be made 'explosive'.. so we'll need to know exactly what that suitcase contained before accepting such statements from unaccountable anonymous and unofficial sources.) - And even then, there's nothing solid linking the suitcase to any of the suspects.

The intel from Pakistan has turned out to be weak.

The only evidence alleged to have been found, authorities are shy to reveal to us (or are contradicting/denying the reports from anonymous sources)

9 planes, 5 planes, 6 planes, no tickets.

What the fuck?! They shouldn't even open their mouths until they're sure of what they're reporting.

@yasinumur:

"No doubt about it, thats how the USA, UK & Israel keep their citizens in terror.
totally shouted"

... and the bombs that exploded in the London underground last year?

... and the 25% of UK muslims that believe the bombs were justified?

... and the multitude of other bombs that have been?

... and the muslims slaughtering the muslims in Iraq?

- just wait 'till one of the bombs goes off real close to you then tell me you are willing to accept the terror threat.
