This is one time i'll side with the natives and say fuck you PETA. It's amazing to live in a country with such diversity and have general acceptance over traditions, in this way I respect and admire native Canadians, although there is tons of other stuff I am not so proud of for you're people.

One thing most sources don't tell you is that the make up industry is one of the biggest consumers of whale oil. The reason they don't tell you is because all of those PETA bimbos wear it.
Also, bretto2006, you're an idiot. What the fuck does "stuff I am not so proud of for you're people" even mean? Who the fuck are my people?

Problem with this story is it is being blurred between supporting the native traditions and supporting the sealing industry.

She was only being polite and following a multi-millenial tradition. The representative of the sealing industry turns around and thanks the G.G. (jean michelle) and says it is a great form of support.

She was just being polite.

Clubbing seals for food and eating everything is completely different than clubbing seals for money and using them for fur.

This is coming from a lifelong Canadian citizen.

The only parts of the seals that aren't used in the commercial sealing industry is their organs. It's not just about their pelts, we use their blubber for medicine and make up and we eat their flippers and other muscle tissue.

This is coming from a lifelong Newfoundlander who has actually been on the seal hunt.
