Setting all nuclear warfare aside north korea doesn't even have an operational aircraft carrier. That kind of limits a country to a small space of tactical warfare. Not saying north korea isn't at all dangerous but technology has increased by a whole lot since the 50's. North korea might be catching up and The u.s. forces might be spread a bit thin, but needless to say the world is a bit upset with north korea right now. They would be crushed inevitably by the surrounding world. That is if china would stay out.

And bombing nagasaki and hiroshima was about doing an end all move to end the war... it worked... get over it, it happened, cant be undone, get over it, civilized or not, its over with, no one besides military complexes, wants this to happen again, well, civilized kim jong il does and a few other middle eastern places but being they are not first world nations most people will ignore their threats as just standing up to whoever is favored to be bashed this season...regardless it was a dick move but one the whole world understood..

The reason for not taking down whatever it was that hit the pentagon is supposedly they coudlnt tell their ass from a hole in the ground, and yet their heads were far up their asses.../yay amercian gov intelligence!

They only have a few thousand artillery pieces pointed at Seoul.

This is largely irrelevant as our experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan have proven. Low-tech guerilla fighters are more than capable of taking on a technologically advanced military superpower and winning the fight.

QFT, so long as we don't go sticking our nose where it doesn't belong. North Korea will probably just end up starving itself out.

I disagree. Bush wasn't able or willing to fight a true guerilla war. He was too worried about world opinion and geneva. The way you fight a true guerilla war is by destroying every building the enemy can hide in or behind. Then cluster bombing what's left. None of that house to house fighting.

Not going to happen. All the Koreans have to do is sell missile and nuclear technology to countries like Iran or any rogue nation.

Indeed as Cadpig said, Liberal western ideals make it difficult to fight a proper guerilla war. The only viable tactic would be to eliminate every hole the enemy can hide in and get a choke hold on their ability to blend in with civilians or use civilians as tools. But this would be looked on as brutality, and indeed it would be cause it would result in many civilian deaths and destruction of property. But if the alternative is decades or centuries of Guerilla war.. maybe it's not so bad. Either way I find it difficult to take North Korea seriously. Just a small dictatorship looking for large attention.

They didn't WANT to stop it.

I'm pretty sure they will want to stop any hostile North Koreans and succeed at it too.
