Do we live in a country full of cowards or are we simply eager to embrace tyranny as long as its got a Democratic or Republican face attached to it?
I find myself utterly confused sometimes. I started my political idealogies in the far right wing Republican spectrum, embracing the need for a powerful military and support for the supposed infallible engine known as capitalism. Slowly but surely, I found myself an outcast in my own party of preference... they would hear no such things about a womans right to her body nor the simple concept of leaving homosexuals to themselves. Logically, I found myself a home in the wonderful world of the Democratic agenda... logically my ass. I find myself surrounded by souls often very much similar to those in the Republican party... save the tolerance to baby killing and butt fucking.
Another similarity I am starting to find with more and more of my time being focused on world news and the American progression has been staring me in the face the whole time... neither one of these groups cares, or has ever cared, about us. This is the part where someone buts in with the age old "WE NEED A THREE PARTY SYSTEM!" speech. Personally? I've lost faith in our entire political system... be it two, three or sixteen parties. It wasn't because of Bush, Obama, McCain, Clinton... no, it was you America. You who promised me freedom and has been taking more and more of it away from me every four to eight years. Even the man I voted for has begun to lose his appeal... another wasted vote. Are they all wasted?
I watch the conflict in Iran and I envy them... they are a people who have been dying for their freedoms and their choice. We don't have the luxury, just two stupid faces with two stupid ways of getting to the same stupid political agenda... and most of America has swallowed the bait hook, line and sinker. Our country has been working against us for decades. Self preservation and the fillings in one's pockets are all we as Americans seem to unanimously agree with at this point and that is one sad state of affairs. Then again, what can we expect from a country that had to fight amongst itself to figure out if leaving people without rights, liberties or freedom is okay? Not much it seems. Not very fucking much.
The hot fucking blonde in the corner gigantic tits and her Gucci purse... and of course an inclination towards all things "organic" when even her chest isn't organic. The overzealous douche bag sitting in the office across from me muttering about the fairness of Obama's taxation of the rich... all the while writing in the expense of his anniversary dinner to the company check book. All blindly following their appointed leaders in any direction they point just because its "hip" or because "our country was founded on morals" or because "we need to end intolerance" or because "trickle down economics really works".
At this point, all these things are little more than words... big empty fucking words. One President comes in and makes it legal to spy on us without necessity or reason. In comes another who wants to take away our means of self defense. The next president will probably come in and announce our new Federal Identification Numbers... I'd rather die than be tagged for the sake of it. I'd rather die than let you keep your tabs on me "just in case". I'd rather die than risk leaving myself or my family powerless should my government find it fit to take over. Yet all these things have a following (at least two thirds of our country if we can be optimistic) of mindless drones ready to embrace what their leader/party/whatever the fuck has to offer them. We cannot exchange liberty for safety. They are the mob, we are the store clerks who pay for their "protection".
Before we discuss which party has the better grasp, before we discuss which direction is the right direction, before we can even discuss what the state of the fucking country is... we need to discuss the simple fact that us the people are unwilling to FIGHT for what we believe in. Where is George W. Bush's trial for the misinformation brought to go to war with Iraq? Where was Nixon's for Watergate? Even Clinton, lying under oath which would land me or you behind bars in an instant... where was his trial? The truth of the matter is that our government is in charge and regardless of whether there is an NWO, Illuminati or religious conspiracy going on behind the scenes... it wouldn't matter.
Our citizens are satisfied with their depowering on the upfront... what problems will they have with that of the hidden? I am but one man, and we are all but one person... but these are OUR United States and until we are a UNITED front things will never change. One thing is certain though... you can't watch me, you can't take my guns and damn you if you think you can force ANY idealogy on me. You'll kill me before you do any of these things. If only people like me, and of course many of you, were the majority... if only. Unfortunately, freedom is not the most important thing in our minds... it never has been... and most probably it never will be.
