for one, with public trackers you dont have to spend half your life maintaining a ratio.

did any of you even read the article? The TRACKER is down. the site itself is still up and hosting torrents. just the pirate bay tracker which has been down for qutie a while is not going to come back. you can still use the openbittorrent tracker with torrents from pirate bay like everyone has been as well as dht pex. it also talks about plans for the future so torrent sites can eliminate .torrents entirely and use new methods such as magnet links to replace them.
