Creationists get the living shit kicked out of them time and time again, yet they always come back for more...masochism? or just plain stupidity? Maybe both...?

What the Fuck? Since when did we start referring to creationists as 'intelligent design advocates' and supporters of the scientific theory of evolution as 'evolutionists'? Evolutionism isn't a fucking word, and it's no longer Darwin's theory.

This was a bloody weird article- one of the bones of contention was the anthropic principle (which has fuck all to do with biological evolution), but my favourite was the mention of whales. This is great. The idea is that whales could not have evolved from land dwelling mammals because creationists say so- "To fix all the mutations needed to convert a little land mammal into a fully functional whale [in ten million years]--mathematically that's totally not possible."

Lets pretend that they are right, just for a laugh.

This would mean that a group of mammals came into existence in complete isolation from all other mammals. It would mean that whales (and maybe dolphins and manatees) magicked into existence at some point in the past as air-breathing live-birthing mammals and that this idea is somehow less controversial (or silly) than the obvious evolutionary explanation.

There's only really ojne point of contention. Scientists deal in logic and reason and creationsists are retards who don't undersatand how either of those things work, and wouldn't use them if they did.

My favourite bit is when creationists bring up irreducible complexity without realizing that god itself would have to be irreducibly complex.

some how they figure that once something is soo complex, such as god, that it just came into being, however simple things like eyes and flagella had to be created.
sounds like basic religious philosophy to me

Pretty much everyone’s heard about the evil/saintly hacker who stole/liberated thousands of emails from a server at the University of East Anglia in England. Most publicized is the use of the word “trick” by one of the scientists when referring to climate data that did not indicate warming; essentially, the individual wished to hide the fact that there was no warming during a given period, via “creative statistics” (my term, not theirs).Plenty of climate change skep...
