About time this issue got some attention. Especially after that debacle where an inn owner was sued for libel because she was expressing Christian beliefs in a debate against Muslim beliefs with a customer. Ridiculous. I assume that's what triggered this, anyway.

^ Yeah. The Tazi case seemed rather ridiculous. I think the judge was right to throw it out. I'm not in favour of laws protecting people's religious sensibilities, if we're free to critiwue people's political beliefs, then why not religious... everything should be open to debate and critique, or even ridicule. Even me ;)

There were kinda loosely related stories I wanted to submit about gaging orders, injunctions, and super-injunctions, but I didn't know if anyone would be interested.

Date: The Beginning (day one) Current mood: Creative Listening to: Phil Collins - Another Day in Paradise Posted by: THE_ONE After having been harassed interminably by all the other deities, I have finally deigned to create myself a blog. I've no doubt that it will serve no purpose other than consume precious time that could be better spent being wrothful towards hypothetical worshippers that I am yet to create. The Pagan gods have been making fun of me though...

The death penalty is a constant source of controversy in the United States, one of the last industrialized countries to keep the practice legal, and the only one to regularly kill people (Japan and South Korea have a de-facto moratorium on capital punishment). In fact, five countries are responsible for 95% of all executions worldwide: China, Iraq, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the US. Not great company, to say the least. Somewhere around fifty people are killed in th...
