Send them an email informing them that you will be turning them into the BBB like the poster above stated. It probably will not do much but inform them that you are also putting the letters you have received on every message board you can find and they might change their mind.

Bwahah! Maybe GoDaddy should see what Maddox did to Orbitz when they fucked him around. Screwing him on something cost them big time.

Does look rather ad-like to me. But spam?

spam: To indiscriminately send unsolicited, unwanted, irrelevant, or inappropriate messages, especially commercial advertising in mass quantities. Noun: electronic "junk mail". (similar definitions were also found using a define:spam search on google)

That require mass quantities, not a few posts on a board that he has been a member of (therefoe not indiscriminate!) for some time and asked the admin for permission first. I don't see how his few postings qualifies as spam...it was appareantly unwanted by some people, but the admins didn't feel that most people felt that way.

Anyway, GoDaddy is going to be in deep trouble for behavior like this. First, they're not supposed to be self-policing of the domains since they are ICANN accredeted. Secondly, sicne they started policing, they open themselves up to litigation. If somebody steals some work and posts it on their GoDaddy-registered domain as their own, GoDaddy may now be held liable for some damages for not enforcing their policies if they don't act in a quickly manner to shut the domain down. Bascially, one could argue that GoDaddy was protecting said domain (kinda weak, but it's been done before with other companies, and the companies lost). Third, this is EXTORTION! Saying they will overlook this by sending money to them as a sign of friendship and committment to not doing it again? Pure extortion.

Still, I say this is a spoofed email and somebody is trying to scam GoDaddy customers sicne I haven't seen any repitable sources even mentioning this.
