There was some documentry on disccovery i saw about a guy inventing a time machine(for real), the thing is it is possible to travel time but it is most probably impossible to travel before the time the machine was made. the main factor of time travel is to do with light, i won't be able to expain it becuase i can't be bothered and it will require diagrams. but basically the faster someone goes, the slower time is, so if you manage to travel at the speed of light then time will be so slow that time would almost of stopped, to get faster than the speed of light, which seems to be the necessity for time travel, can not be achieved unless the power of a super blackhole (in the center of every galaxy) can some how be used. Btw time does exist, it isn't human based it is universally based, the universe wouldn't be expanding if time didn't exist.

I agree - the units of measure for time are arbitrary - but that does not mean time does not exist. This one is addressed in the discusson on the site:

Time travel is impossible, since it violates the second law of thermodynamics. If you do back in time, even changing the state of one molecule will probably cause your exsistence to cease. It doesn't take killing your grandfather to do it. Even insignifigant changes will eventually lead up to big differences do to the butterfly effect, and thats considering that quantum theory isn't truely randmom.

So called 'time travel' is about changing place, not time.

In quantum theory we exist in multivers. And if you travel in 'time' you can kill yourself (if someone hasnt done it), because it isnt YOU.

There is only one problem .. or lets say - unknown. That is : must matter be constant in univers or in multivers.

i think for time travel to exist then there must be multiple universes to cope with each millisecond of possible change, so maybe if someone travels in time and goes back to the exact time they left then nothing would have changed...i'm not sure, i'm unfortunetly not a scientist.

I'd argue that fate doesn't exist because there's an infinite number of timelines. Every single decision made differently in at any point in time creates a new timeline. Just my guess.

Time Travel exists....we know for certain from experiments that show as we approach C (speed of light), the time that a person experiences is slown down dramatically compared to that of a person that is stationary.... so maybe .999999 C, will get you to alpha centauri (4.3 light years away) in a couple of hours, but on earth 4.3 years have passed.

That is the definition of time travel...though it is future travel and very inconvenient...

An instant...teleportation-like time travel that allows you to go back and forth or at least back...that we haven't yet figured out.....

A while back I recall reading..as I have more than once, that tachyons move so fast that they travel BACK IN TIME...something like a BILLION times the speed of light.

So don't say time travel cannot be done...say we don't know how...YET.

As to fate.
It requires the notion that we choose.
If we choose our own way that we must by definition be capable of changing the universe....
I only have this arguement against the notion that things are predetermined...

IF YOU BELIEVE, that we are creatures of evolution, how probable do you think it is that the universe has willed Mcdonalds, Microsoft, Cell Phones, Nuclear Weapons, Borat, and Bush into existence.....it seems to me (admitedly purely intuitively) that it is absurd that these things are anything other than random, they only appear highly organized and inevitable in connection to many other random things.....human beings are pattern seekers and finders...its how we have manage to engineer CIVILIZATION....we see the elaborate patterns and think....it must be some outside force....but its likely to be just our own desire for order that is at the center of speculation that the universe is naturally ordering everything all the way down to the subatomic particle for all time......PROJECTION.

ill look up what a tachyon is, never heard of that before, like i said though, at the moment people are thinking that possibly the super black holes at the centre of every galaxy might allow us to time travel, however the centre is very very far away...tachyons may be the answer.

tachyon is any HYPOTHETICAL particle with space-like four-momentum (according to Wiki).

TigerEyesRobot Unicorn Attack
For those of you aware of what Robot Unicorn Attack is, bear with me. For those of you who don’t, this is for you.Robot Unicorn Attack is a free online flash game from Adult Swim made out of rainbows, unicorns, and crack. This is a severe deviation from the other games the site offers (Pole Dance Hero, Radioactive Teddy Bear Zombies, and Zombie Hooker Nightmare to name a few) and yet it has nearly 10 million more plays than any other game listed. Its popularity...
