What "Jim" did with his letter is a bit incomplete. If he would have really wanted his letter to mean anything he would have:

1. Not just posted it on the internet. Holy crap, mail it if you think you are smart enough to make a difference.

2. Ended the letter surmising what he really meant, i.e. that he feels that her argument was wrong based on the fact that a lot of things in the bible aren't practiced today by any type of jew.

Really, his sarcasm was wasted.

"Am not gay or anything but i dont think its right for her to do that GOD made us with freewill if people wants to do that let them is not affecting you or anything, nobody should be judge."

The only thing I can think of is boo hoo hoo. We have the right to free speech, and though I don't agree that saying something like that is going to make her show any better or make people like her more, she has every right to say what she wants to say. Let her dig her own grave, she is well within her rights.

Dr Laura is an idiot.

If you need to look at book thats 2000 years old to support what you have to say, then you have no credibility. Especially when you only follow the parts of the bible that don't affect you.

This letter was quoted in the book I am holding right now.

"Being Good" by Simon Blackburn, an ethics text. (ISBN 0-19-280442-1).

It was published in 2001.

He writes that the letter was "going around the internet" even then.

Five years later @wrmineo comes along.

Still it makes a good point. The God of the Old Testament believes that a slave is the right of all free men, that the use of birth-control is a capital crime, that child abuse is necessary and that *fools* (what the PC among us would call *special people*) ought to be beaten with staves, too.

Those who quote it to support their arguments seem to say: everything the Bible says is absolutely true, everywhere and at all times...except for these things, and those things, and this thing here that I don't like...and therefore what you are doing is wrong.

Classic.

There's more religion bashing going on in here than gay bashing. Listen man...if you don't understand a religion or WANT to follow one then thats cool. Nobody is forcing you to do shit but stop bashing people who actually do cuz...your comments are pointless really. You think someone is going to stop following their religion just cuz you said some bullshit about it? If you do then you got a lot of work to do cuz last time I checked..there are about 3 billion muslims and christians alone. That's about half the world population and I'm not even counting the other religions.

So my question is, if someone today were to say "I will die for your sins but you have to follow the rules I am going to leave behind".

Would anyone actually do it?

Maybe he would have to perform some kind of miracle first right?

How about if he took the heart from a dead man and placed it into another man to allow him to live longer and better, by the way things were back then that would be a huge miracle. So does that count?

homosexuality is sick, it goes against nature and doesn't anyone any favours. The reason God condemns homosexuality is because it is an abomination. There are practical reasons to: How many gay's end up with AIDs?

@DavidG
Straight sex with a condom doesn't do anyone favors. Hell, STDs.
How many gays end up with AIDS? The latest reporting says only the ones who sleep with someone with AIDS.

Alright, so lets go with your arguement that it "goes against nature" and "doesn't do anyone any favours". Why don't we outlaw all of that stuff now? Here's some.....
-Smoking cigarettes
-Smoking just about anything
-Divorce (annulment as well)
-War, the holy kind especially.

The first 3 are better known as "freedoms". Now, I'm not exactly sure where you're from, but over here, we like those. Despite what anyone else has to say about them. Now, please stop trying to limit MY right to do what I want to do in bed with other men, kay?

Oh, you must be Jim Crowe's grandson. Nice to meet you, thanks for making ShoutWire a place of irrelevant, hateful, and non-intelligent debate.

The Pagan gods have been making fun of me though...

quincy0191Infinity Ward VERSUS! Activision-Blizzard
The gaming world is abuzz with news of corporate villainy as Infinity Ward CEO Vince Zampella and president Jason West were fired last week under rather suspicious circumstances. According to reports, both employees were being “insubordinate” and their firing coincided with the arrival of some “bouncer types” on the Infinity Ward campus. This development just reeks of evil. The charges of insubordination are appropriately vague, and the additional fact that the firin...
