Two questions come to mind considering all the puzzle pieces. 1) Is more violence in the Middle East actually going to help U.S. security, or destabilize the region further? And 2) Is it really our physical security, or economic security, that is at stake here?

"Plus it doesnt really seem like the US wants to improve their relationship with the Arab world, they just want their oil."

What, like defending Kuwait when Saddam was mobilizing his army. Or how about when Milosevic was supposedly killing off Muslims?

I'm not going to argue that oil is not a big part of the US's involvement in the Middle East, but it is not the only one.

Skins, think about it. If America lost its access to oil, and it's economy absolutely went into a *serious* depression, you don't think there'd be security problems? People robbing for food? I'm not suggesting Iran can hit us with bombs, only Bush is - but keeping Iran from controlling Iraq is allowing our economy to continue as it always has.

There are limits to economic growth, limits not caused by other countries. Oil os a finite resource and will impose its own limits.

Going to war to prolong the business as usual life is simply delaying the inevitable AND killing thousands of people.

If the US economy tanks, the world goes with it. Be careful what you wish for, whether anti OR pro US.

lordzane is right too.

FlikIn The Beginning (Day One)
Date: The Beginning (day one) Current mood: Creative Listening to: Phil Collins - Another Day in Paradise Posted by: THE_ONE After having been harassed interminably by all the other deities, I have finally deigned to create myself a blog. I've no doubt that it will serve no purpose other than consume precious time that could be better spent being wrothful towards hypothetical worshippers that I am yet to create. The Pagan gods have been making fun of me though...

quincy0191Infinity Ward VERSUS! Activision-Blizzard
The gaming world is abuzz with news of corporate villainy as Infinity Ward CEO Vince Zampella and president Jason West were fired last week under rather suspicious circumstances. According to reports, both employees were being “insubordinate” and their firing coincided with the arrival of some “bouncer types” on the Infinity Ward campus. This development just reeks of evil. The charges of insubordination are appropriately vague, and the additional fact that the firin...
