The key difference here is that Musharraf is a much nicer guy than Saddam, at least with us. I sincerely doubt Obama would launch a full-scale invasion into a country that would be willing to cooperate with us. It wouldn't surprise me if Obama authorized joint US-Pakistani raids in order to catch the real terrorists, though.

Pakistan is Nuclear Armed country. Any raids in Pakistan would never ever happen against the Pakistan's government will.

Give Obama credit for speaking his mind. His campaign may have been better advanced with the same vague, non-committal rhetoric of his opponents.

Clinton continues to bash him for being naive related to world politics, and then adopts the same ideas she had criticized him for.

It seems here, that Obama's grabbing his nut sack, and announcing, "I got balls". Perhaps challenging Clinton to display her's.

All this well before the first primary. It's gonna be a dogfight.

Btw, Ron Paul or Mike Gravel are not going to be President. There aren't enough internet "liberals", who, even if they decided to vote, to make that happen.

And if the author of this piece is confused, Obama's first name is Barak.

Full scale war with nukes..russia and china backing Pakistan...extremist on every corner....so i think its just the taliban...title a bit misleading

Pakistan is a very fragile country, the president of pakistan wont send military into the tribal areas of pakistan, because he doesnt want the country to go crazy .

The tribal areas of pakistan is a place pakistani military wont go, its also the place the taliban are recruiting people and training them to cross over to afganistan to try and take back afganistan.

It is also most likely where bin laden is hiding if hes still alive.

There is very good reason to send forces into the tribal parts of pakistan, they are blowing up our forces who are trying to rebuild afganistan!!!!

Remember the taliban are really nasty group. Go do your research before you defend them.

@medfreak

We've conducted cover raids in nuclear nations before, we just don't broadcast it to the world. Don't kid yourself that it makes a difference.

Raids are something, a full fledged invasion against a nuclear country is something totally different.

And besides, if there is going to be a raid, the Pakistanis will most probably want to co-operate, but most definitely, it won't happen against their will.

Musharraf is a dictator, grabbing a country with a string. It can be cut any moment. Any action by the U.S. to undermine his control over his country, is going to result in most dire consequences.

He is not exactly a popular figure.

Now, before I go any further let me make the observation that I shall not follow the title nor the description of this piece. As much as needs be served by a common comma.  Or a stripe begging for another one.  In my journeys, as seldom as they are, I have found a common virtue.  That virtue is a simple pattern... But all seize it, and all know it well.  For it is the definition before the act.  It is why and who and when and that t...
