one thing i don't understand is.... since WHEN have jocks ever represented the 'cool' people? in my experience 'jocks'(kids who play sports, to not be retarded) can be just as much of losers as 'nerds' (intellectuals). the words 'jock' and 'nerd' don't really apply anymore lol

Overall, girls don't dig the nerds who are fraind to talk to them, and don't dig the nerds who just sit on thier computer all night.

Although, I got shut down from a hot 28 year old, but thats because I'm 19 and I'm a babyface. She still dug me, but I was just a bit too young for her. But oh well, I'll just get someone my own age tomarrow night.

most girls dont like nerds as they have very little self confidence due to sittin on there asses hour after hour on the computer and not going out and having a real life and interacting with other people.

years ago when i was at uni i dated a nerdish type guy. I was pretty crazy back then haha. poor sod didnt know what he had let himself in for lol. anyway he just lay there everytime we had sex i had to do all the work. it didnt last though i think i just felt sorry for him. he was a good looking nerd though haha

hatsumi-good point. how do you necessarily define a nerd? even among 'nerds' there's different kinds (1337 g4l\/l0r5, D&D player, computer techys etc ). And Some social people participate in 'nerdy' activates but are not nerds. Nerd is really a pretty loose term. as I stated earlier, it can only really apply in educational settings primarily high school. but there is no real way do necessarily define one as a nerd. im unquestionably a nerd, but i still have several traits which do not fit stereo type. am i still a nerd?
i just happen to be antisocial and like electronics and books ,and rpgs r fun. but im also on the football team, am physically superior (stronger, faster ,etc) to most other people i know (audacious thing to say but its true for the most part…then again, my peers are pretty damn incompetent….), and i fit the 'don't give a shit' profile fairly well. Yeah, I watch stargate but that's not all I do.
basicly, im a nerd, undoubtably, but i dont look it. in public no one could know i was a nerd. 6'3, well build (idk how that oen happend, i mean, i am a nerd. i try not to quesiton it) fohawk, i mean, i really dont fit the sterotype.only my school peers who have chosen to judge me (all) think i was. now.....if someone were to talk to me, my nerdyness would come out pretty fast but....
Despite my low self esteem inherent to nerds , I kick ass (imo of course) but im smart and antisocial so I get labeled as nerd (ive also been told im good looking :P w00t). Really, 'nerd' applies only in high school. because the difference between social groups is more obvious. you're popular or nerd (usually somewhat more complex but....) nerd is mostly just a title the stupid social people use to make them self's feel better and more secure.
and as to your other point, chicks r superior, i sadly must admit. Science has proved it! (...i am such a nerd...)
