if you really knew what god was with 100% confidence, would it change your life in any way? no.

Good read. I'm a big believer in the whole energy thing. We're just a bunch of different energies repelling and attracting. Maybe not negative or positive but certainly opposites.

One theory that i'm quite particular to is that humans are just a small part in the vast universe that is being used by a greater force for it's own end. What that force is and for what i don't know. But what is certain is that we have a purpose, otherwise we wouldn't be here.

"I hypothesize that god is no more or less then the engergy that gives everything it's ability to function as a life form."

Well, you're wrong, God is this planet under your feet, as simple as that.

Well YOU'RE wrong, God is the Universe and its constituents: every single atom, molecule, and sub-atomic particle

Nope.

You're going too far up the chain of command, into the realm of unreality.

Just like chickens have a pecking order and the military has ranks, so do deities have their own ranks, and the one we have become used to calling God is just the local boss.

We have grown accustomed to calling our God almighty, but he isn't, he's just mightier than us, in certain ways. If you think mightier is a justified synonym for almighty, then that's your problem.

Sure, he has a bigger boss above him and you might be inclined to say that that higher boss is the real God then but then you're over stretching your importance to him because he's only interested in his direct subordinates and not in us mere humans because we're too far down the scale for him. Just like a general doesn't bother to directly give a grunt his orders, he has his lower ranking officers for that.

So I'm sorry to put a dent in the importance of your idea of a God, but fact is that our God is only doing his specific God-job for us alone, and not for every single other entity in the universe. He has his peers to do that job in other regions.

Our God just does his work locally, over here, on this planet, because he IS this planet. He's part of us and we are part of him and as a result we live in a state symbiosis. Don't make the mistake to think this planet Earth is just a dead rock, because it isn't, it's alive and kicking, and we are a part of it just as individual cells are a part of our body.

And the common link between the cells we all share is the energy that makes them alive and active.

Once you understand that the term energy isn't used in the electrical sense, it becomes easier to comprehend what my ramblings means.

In which case both you, Immaculate, and you, Lizard, are correct.

I think that the old folks only personified "god" because they had no way to related the abstraction of an energy as a active force.

@Dany2Step: "Im sorry but have you been playing alot of rpgs lately, or are you absolutely fucking sereious?"

I'm sorry, I never played one damn RPG in my life as they suck, and yes I am absolutely fucking serious. From the way you mention RPG's I suspect you're a very stereotypical thinker and therefore I am not amazed you find my idea difficult to grasp as it is not in the reach of your stereotypical mindset. No worries though, it's not too late.

@Micmac

"Once you understand that the term energy isn't used in the electrical sense, it becomes easier to comprehend what my ramblings means."

I sort of figured that out already, no need for extra pointers. I am well aware that energy and electricity aren't synonyms and I wasn't making any reference to electricity as far as I know.

"And the common link between the cells we all share is the energy that makes them alive and active."

A more common link between all cells of a body would be the network of neurons to which they are connected to and the network of blood and lymph vessels. I consider that a lot less ethereal as this Star Wars-like 'Force' you talk about.

My idea has nothing to do with a God in the shape of The Force but with an actual physical being, right under your feet. It's kind of big, so you might not have noticed it yet, just as it is difficult for a bacterium on our skin to understand it's living its entire life on a giant living creature with a mind of its own.

"In which case both you, Immaculate, and you, Lizard, are correct."

No, we have little in common.
